Lunchtime Ruminations
Lunch is going well. Luke and Audrey are quietly eating while I move some laundry through. "Mom." Luke says. "Do you remember that time that me and Gracie found poop and we didn't know what animal did it?" Now after "poop" he had my attention fully. "Did you touch it?" I ask. Now why that matters now after 2 months have passed, I'm not sure. What possible good could it do to find out that they had - except to completely turn my stomach. Thankfully he (of course) replied "no." He remembers it well for it being that long ago because he then began to describe the size and appearance said poop and then speculate which animal it could be. We came to the conclusion it was a deer, and he now plans to inform Gracie of the discovery next time we are all in the mountains together. Hopefully that will be sometime soon before that becomes a weird conversation!

"Thank you, Papa & Grandmom!!!"
The girls had so much fun yesterday using the "Build-a-Bear" gift cards they got from Dad & Mom for Christmas. I thought it would take a while for them to decide what they wanted, but they were both surprisingly quick and decisive. Gracie chose a stuffed dog, which she decided was a boy, of course. She dressed him in blue jeans, baseball cap, jersey and Sketchers. Madie had no trouble deciding on her pink, fluffy bear, which she dressed in a Cinderella outfit (of course!!). She also bought her bear a little, blue, sparkly purse to go with her outfit. (as well as some white "undies"!) They really enjoyed it, and I don't think Gracie has let "Boston American" out of her sight since she carried him out of the store!

Christmas in Florida
I will be spending Christmas in Florida this year, and it will be my first Christmas away from home ever! I'm pretty excited to meet Derek's family, but the night before I go I might think otherwise because my nerves will take over. I leave friday, the 22nd, in the morning and I return the 28th.Sarah, I hope you have a Merry Christmas in Indiana, and the kid's presents are on the way. . . Steph, I wish you a Merry Christmas as well, and try and keep Stephen sane, since he's the only one left at Mom and Dad's on Christmas. I'll miss you all!

a little update

On saturday was Derek and my 2 month dating anniversary and he bought me these pretty roses for the occasion. We didn't get to spend the evening together, since I had to babysit the Rudolphs, but he did take me out to Olive Garden for lunch.
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving vacation and a few days of rest from school stuff. I can't wait to have the whole family together to hang out, relax and have fun. Although I am being put into the kids room for sleeping arrangements at the mountains, I am still looking forward to the time to spend with everyone.
